I locked myself out.  How do I reset my account?

[1/8/2013]

For security reasons, the system will lock your account if you have three failed login attempts in a row.  If you have locked yourself out, please send a message to Technical Support through the Contact Us system asking to have your account unlocked.

Please note, your FRG Admin cannot unlock your account for you.

When I click the link to log in, I get an Internet connection error.

[3/8/2012]

This is likely caused by a conflict between the security requirements of the site and the settings on your browser.  You'll need to update the security settings for your browser:
  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Select Tools -> Internet Options (you may need to do an Alt-T in order to see it.)
  3. Select the "Advanced" tab.
  4. Scroll down to the "Security" section and select the checkboxes for "Use SSL 3.0", "Use TLS 1.0", "Use TLS 1.1" (if available), and "Use TLS 1.2" (if available).
  5. Deselect the "Use SSL 2.0" option.
  6. Click Apply and then OK.
  7. Close all open browsers and then try to access the site again.

I forgot my username and/or password. How do I log in?
[1/30/2012]

If you need to verify your login information, you can do so through the site. Go to the Army vFRG site (http://www.armyfrg.org) and click on the "Forgot your Login?" link in the "Support" box on the right. You'll be asked for your email address and an email will be sent with your username and a link to follow to change your password.

Please note that passwords are case sensitive.

Also, please note that if you are using an AKO account, you may have some trouble with the email you have received. AKO has instituted security restrictions on email that has URLs in it, making them not function. If you are having trouble changing your password and you are using an AKO account, please let us know.

How do I subscribe to my Unit's site as a Family Member?
[7/15/2013]

To subscribe to an FRG as a Family Member, go to the Army FRG site (http:/www.armyfrg.org). If you already have a username and password for the site, log in and then click on "Subscribe" at the top of the screen on the right. If you don't have an account, just click on "Subscribe": You'll be asked to create a username and password later.

When you click on "Subscribe," you'll be asked for your Sponsor's information.  The system will then show you all the Unit sites your Sponsor is connected to.  Select your site from the list.

Depending upon your situation, one of two things can happen:
  1. If you are not on your Sponsor's invitation list, then your subscription will be put in a pending state awaiting manual approval by the FRG Administrator. If you do not have an account, you'll then be asked to create a username and password and fill out your profile.
  2. If you are on your Sponsor's invitation list, then your subscription will be automatically approved.  If you do not have an account, you'll then be asked to create a username and password and fill out your profile.

The FRG Administrator of the site is responsible for keeping the Sponsor Database up to date. If you get the error that your Sponsor cannot be found and you are sure the information is correct, you will want to contact your FRG Administrator to verify that the correct information is in the Sponsor Database. Click on the "Contact vFRG Admin" button and send feedback there.

How do I subscribe to my Unit's site as a Sponsor?

The system says my Sponsor information cannot be found.
[1/27/2012]

When you subscribe to your Unit's site, you must identify yourself with your Sponsor's information against the Unit's Sponsor Database. This must be an exact match with the information in the database. Capitalization is not important, but spelling is: For example, "STEVEN" and "Steven" will match, but "Steve" will not because they are not spelled the same.

This means any initials, spaces, punctuation, etc. must be entered exactly the same as what is in the Sponsor Database for your Unit's site. This also applies to the last four of the SSN. Please make sure you are spelling everything correctly.

It may be that the database needs to be updated with your Sponsor's information. If that is the case, you will need to contact your Unit for more information. Click on the Contact Us link and send feedback to "Your Unit."

The system says my Sponsor information is associated with another account.
[1/27/2012]

Only one person can subscribe as a Sponsor off an entry in the Sponsor Database. Once that association has been made between your account and your entry in the Sponsor Database, you must log into that account whenever you subscribe to a new vFRG site.  If you are getting an error that your Sponsor is already associated with another account, then you must log into that account first before subscribing to your new site.

If you need to verify your login information, you can do so through the site. Go to the Army vFRG site and click on "Forgot your Login?" link in the "Support" box on the right. You'll be asked for your email address and an email will be sent with your username and a link to follow to change your password.

Please note that passwords are case sensitive.

Also, please note that if you are using an AKO account, you may have some trouble with the email you have received. How do I unsubscribe?
[1/30/2012]

You can unsubscribe from a Unit FRG site at any time. Log into the Army FRG site (http://www.armyfrg.org).  From there, select "Site Tools" from the menu bar at the top of the screen and click "Unsubscribe from Unit."  You will see a list of Units you are subscribed to.  Choose the site you'd like to unsubscribe from and click the "Unsubscribe" button.

Please note, the unsubscription will take place immediately. If you have more than one FRG to which you are attached, simply repeat this process for each FRG.

I subscribed a while ago and I still haven't been approved.
[1/30/2012]

Approval of subscriptions to your Unit's site are controlled by the FRG Administrators for your site. You will need to contact them for more information. Click on the Contact Us link and send your feedback to "Your Unit" for more information.

I can't find my Unit.
[1/30/2012]

Not all Units have created a site on the Army FRG system. If you cannot find your Unit, you will want to talk to your FRG Leader to see if they have created a site and if so, what its name is.

Why did I receive a notice that I was unsubscribed?
[1/30/2012]

The FRG Administrator for your Unit's site is responsible for maintaining the Subscription List for your site. You will want to contact your Unit for more information. Click on the Contact Us link and then send feedback to "Your Unit."

The most common reason is that you are no longer associated with a Sponsor of the Unit. When you subscribed, you identified who your Sponsor within the Unit is. If the Sponsor has been deleted from the Sponsor Database, your account will indicate that you no longer have a connection to the Unit and you will be unsubscribed. You will want to coordinate with the FRG Administrators of the site to make sure your Sponsor is part of the Sponsor Database and then resubscribe to your site.

How do I log in using my CAC?
[12/7/2015]

To associate your CAC with your Army FRG account, put your CAC in your reader and then go to the Army FRG site. The page should recognize your card and ask you to choose which certificate to use. Use the appropriate DoD CA certificate for your CAC. You should be asked for your PIN.

At this point, click on the "Card Login" link. Put your username and password in the fields and then click on "Register Smart Card."

The other possibility is to put in the email address connected to your account in the "Email Address" field and then click on "Send Email." You should receive an email with a link to follow that will associate your CAC with your account.

Can I use Firefox to log in with my CAC?
[12/7/2015]

Firefox is not automatically set up to recognize your CAC.  You will want to follow the instructions the military has put out regarding setting up Firefox to use CAC.  They can be found at:

https://militarycac.com/firefox.htm

Please note, you will need to install AcitvClient on your computer.

I'm getting an SSL Certificate error when using Safari on a Mac.
[12/7/2015]

Unfortunately, this is an issue with the way Safari uses the Keychain. The Army FRG System allows you to log in using a Smart Card or other certificate. That information is stored in the Keychain. When you go to log in, the system seeks to secure the connection so that you can enter your username and password or use your certificate securely.

However, some certificates are causing trouble. The system is detecting them, but they are not valid for use on Army FRG. The problem is that Safari will not then go to the site due to the Keychain. Canceling out causes the SSL error you are seeing.

There are a couple possibilities:

  1. Delete your Keychain. If you are not using the certificates that are in your Keychain, you can delete it. When you try to log in, Safari may ask you if you wish to use a specific Keychain. If you delete it, it will no longer ask you about it and you can go to the Army FRG site to log in with your username and password. However, this is a drastic solution since it requires you to delete any other certificates you may use.

  2. Use Chrome or Firefox instead of Safari. Chrome and Firefox do not use the Keychain and thus, you should be able to get to the site. You may still be asked about a certificate when using Chrome or Firefox, but you should be able to cancel out of it and still get to the site.
