Army FRG Recognizes Military Family Appreciation Month

November is Military Family Appreciation Month and the Army welcomes the opportunity to recognize the commitment, contributions, and sacrifices that our Army Families make to our Nation.  Army Families are important as the strength of our Soldiers comes from the strength of their Families. They are a vital connection between Soldiers and the Army’s ability to remain strong and mission focused.  All Army Families, Active, Guard, Reserve, Survivors, Veterans and Retirees should be recognized for their service.  Army FRG would like to thank all Army Family Members for their contributions.

The Army Family Readiness Group (Army FRG) website provides a secure environment in which information, resources, and support are available to Soldiers and their Family Members 24 hours a day, regardless of their geographic location.  A unit’s virtual FRG site or vFRG promotes a community feeling within Army units by providing a place that is customized to the unit and contains content that is controlled by the unit.  Army FRG provides all of the functionality of a traditional FRG in an ad-hoc and on-line setting to meet the needs of geographically dispersed units and families across all components of the Army.  Read More >>>

Army FRG Getting a New Look!
Screenshot of the new Army FRG look

Starting the night of December 1, 2009, you will see a significant difference in the look of the Army FRG home page. The following are some of the key changes you will see to the site.

  • The new home page will organize the information more efficiently and help guide you to where you wish to go. There are dedicated sections for support, announcements, and RSS news feeds. Be sure to check out the animated Site Tour for a quick overview of the new site.
  • We have developed a new wizard to assist you in building sites. It guides you through the process of building a site and provides tutorials about all the types of content that will need to be uploaded for your site to be built.
  • The Contact Us module has been reworked to help provide you with answers to your questions right away. When you go into Contact Us, you will be asked to describe your problem and common resolutions will be displayed immediately. If you still need assistance, you will be able to send your feedback for a more thorough response.
  • The Photo Gallery will now be much easier for your FRG Members to navigate with the inclusion of an image counter and first, previous, forward, and last buttons.
  • A top navigation bar that shares the same look and functionality with the Army OneSource top navigation bar.
We will be expanding the new look to your own site in the near future so that your page can maintain the same look and feel as the front page. Be sure and let us know what you think of the new look of the home page through contact us.
